Later in this passage Paul lists the characteristics of the new Christian priesthood. The office is eternal, not fleeting. These priests are appointed by God, not heredity. But the most startling quality Paul cites is that a high priest \u201cis able to deal patiently with the ignorant and erring, for he himself is beset by weakness.\u201d Not \u201cacquainted with\u201d but beset or beleaguered by weakness. No wonder the priesthood is losing numbers. But then Paul says that when Jesus was \u201cin the Flesh, he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears.\u201d A priest can bear his office, and we can bear our lives, because Christ suffered all the inexpressible sorrow and pain and guilt we\u2019ve each experienced and cannot tell, and he redeemed it all.<\/div>\n

Our school was indeed a very busy place yesterday, with our new enrolments for Primary 1. We met quite a few new boys and girls and their families who have chosen to be part of the St Bart’s family! Familiar faces from our Nursery were also in abundance – we are delighted to welcome you all! Don’t panic as you have the rest of the week to register your child…<\/p>\n

As always, our Primary 5 children will be taking part in their weekly swimming lessons at the Time Capsule and again, a very big thank you to our parent\u00a0 and grandparent helpers – we couldn’t do it without you.<\/p>\n
