Please remember to send back the clear zippy wallet empty on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>This week in Literacy is a\u00a0<strong>consolidation week\u00a0<\/strong>which means that the children will not learn any new sounds or common words<strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>During this week your child will spend time revising their letter formation, sounds and common words taught over the last three weeks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Could you please encourage your child to pr<\/strong><strong>actise their reading book each night.\u00a0\ud83d\udcd6\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1><strong>Monday<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2>Literacy<\/h2>\n<p>We are revising all of these letter sounds this week- <strong>r, m, d, e, c, k<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Listen to the Jolly Phonics song for each letter sound. Sing each song whilst doing the action. When you look at each word, read the word and then spell it out loud.<\/li>\n<li>Choose a task of your choice from the menu below, to help you practise all of these common words. Have fun!<\/li>\n<li>Ask an adult to give you a spelling test. How many of your words can you <strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\">write<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\"> correctly?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/public\/stbarbaras\/uploads\/sites\/26624\/2020\/11\/01185610\/P1-Spelling-Menu.pdf\">P1-Spelling-Menu<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Maths<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Addition to 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Practise adding to 10 by playing the Robot Addition game.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/addition\/robot-addition\">https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/addition\/robot-addition<\/a><\/p>\n<h1>Wednesday<\/h1>\n<h2>Literacy<\/h2>\n<p><strong>CVC words<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This term we will be continuing with our initial sounds and working on <strong>blending CVC words<\/strong> (<strong>consonant-vowel-consonant<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>The children have been using their magnetic boards and letters in class to blend the sounds we have learned so far to make words.<\/p>\n<p>They have been using the\u00a0<strong>Five Finger Strategy:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>SAY<\/strong>&#8211; Ask your child, \u2018Can you say the word ________?\u2019<\/li>\n<li><strong>MAKE\/BREAK<\/strong>&#8211; Continue, \u2018Can you make the word _______ with your letters?\u2019<br \/>\n-\u2018Do you know what letter comes first?\u2019<br \/>\n&#8211; Your child will choose the appropriate letters and make the word<\/li>\n<li><strong>BLEND<\/strong>&#8211; Ask your child to<strong> SOUND OUT<\/strong> the letters by running their finger below<br \/>\nthe letters and your child should then <strong>BLEND<\/strong> the sounds together to make the word.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>READ<\/strong>&#8211; Ask your child to read the word.<\/li>\n<li><strong>WRITE<\/strong>&#8211; Ask your child to WRITE the word.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Using the<strong> CVC worksheet<\/strong> provided, ask your child to cut out all of the letters on the worksheet and use these letters to make each CVC word.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Words<\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0<strong>sat, tap, pin, tin, pan, den, red, can, mat, pen<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Maths<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Sumdog\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/res-1.cloudinary.com\/crunchbase-production\/image\/upload\/c_lpad,f_auto,q_auto:eco\/v1461255410\/fxn9ofwclhhdhbw3tb2r.jpg\" alt=\"Sumdog - Crunchbase Company Profile &amp; Funding\" width=\"251\" height=\"167\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Log onto <strong>Sumdog<\/strong> and complete this week\u2019s challenge.
