{"id":6612,"date":"2020-06-17T08:00:58","date_gmt":"2020-06-17T07:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/stbarbaras\/?p=6612"},"modified":"2020-06-15T23:10:07","modified_gmt":"2020-06-15T22:10:07","slug":"r-e-wednesday-17th-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/stbarbaras\/2020\/06\/17\/r-e-wednesday-17th-june\/","title":{"rendered":"R.E. &#8211; Wednesday 17th June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning boys and girls, on Sunday we celebrated the feast of Christ\u2019s Body and Blood, this is also know as Corpus Christi so today we are going to take some time to celebrate <i>Jesus-the bread of life.<\/i> Make sure that you are comfortable, light a little candle \ud83d\udd6f (if a grown up is with you) this helps us to take time out of our day to remember that Jesus is with us.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&quot;I Am&quot; The Bread of Life - John 6 | Sunday School Lesson for Kids | HD | Sharefaithkids.com\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5umSmru3RCg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>When we go to mass there are two very important symbols that remind us of Christ\u2019s body and blood. \u00a0Can anyone think of what they are?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/stbarbaras\/files\/2020\/06\/C0B81454-9B01-4DF8-8FEF-57002563C25D.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6615\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/stbarbaras\/files\/2020\/06\/C0B81454-9B01-4DF8-8FEF-57002563C25D.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"285\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe chalice (the cup) and the host (the bread). \u00a0These are very important items we use at mass that become, or hold, Christ\u2019s body and blood.<\/p>\n<p>Why do you think that we celebrate Christ\u2019s body and blood? \u00a0Why is it important?<\/p>\n<p>Christ\u2019s body and blood are gifts that Jesus began to give us at the <i>Last Supper <\/i>and finished after he rose from the dead. \u00a0We also call it the Eucharist. \u00a0We share the Eucharist together to remind us that we are all united. \u00a0In school, the boys and girls in primary 5-7 have received Jesus\u2019s body in communion &#8211; the Eucharist, however, it is important for us all to receive Jesus into our hearts. \u00a0We can all do this when we show love and kindness towards others. Perhaps today you could try to show kindness to the people in your family.
