<\/p>\nGood morning boys and girls, I hope you are all well.\u00a0 I hope you have all been enjoying the beautiful, sunny weather and are ready for some work and activities today.<\/p>\n

As usual, we will begin our day with our morning prayer.<\/p>\n
God Our Father, as we prepare to begin our work, we ask you to help us to use properly the many gifts that you have given us, so that we may fully benefit\u00a0from our day together at school. \u00a0St Barbara Pray for us.<\/strong>\ud83d\ude4f<\/p>\n The Feast of Pentecost \u2013 31 May 2020<\/p>\n \u201cThey were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhen Pentecost day came round, they had all met in one room, when suddenly they heard what sounded like a powerful wind from heaven, the noise of which filled the entire house in which they were sitting; and something appeared to them that seemed like tongues of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak foreign languages as the Spirit gave them the gift of speech.\u201d<\/p>\n The Feast of Pentecost brings to an end the Season of Easter and falls 50 days after Easter Sunday.\u00a0 Pentecost celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 As we heard in the first reading of how the disciples were all together and how they were afraid now that Jesus had left them.\u00a0 On this day they were given the gift of speaking many different languages so that they could travel far and wide to spread the good news.<\/p>\n We learn that God is always here for us, we just need to ask him for help if we are afraid, worried or feeling lonely.\u00a0 He will answer our prayer and help us.\u00a0 Especially in these times when we are feeling sad about not seeing our friends and families like we use to.\u00a0 God will be by our sides to guide us through to better times.<\/p>\n Above you will see an image of Pentecost.\u00a0 There are important symbols that are associated with Pentecost \u2013 we can read about them in the extract above from the Acts of the Apostles.\u00a0 \u00a0We also saw Father Campbell in his red vestments when watching Mass yesterday.<\/p>\n For today\u2019s task I would like you to design your own Pentecost poster incorporating some of the important symbols of Pentecost.\u00a0 This poster will remind us that the Holy Spirit is with us in everything we do. Please email your poster to (Gw14connollymary) <\/strong>or upload it onto Twitter with an adult’s permission.<\/p>\n Literacy<\/strong><\/p>\n Mrs McLeod has asked me to remind you all that she has set a new scholastic reading book for you today.\u00a0 So just log in, find your book and have fun reading it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We have another new phoneme to learn this week boys and girls, it is the phoneme ‘OO’<\/p>\n ‘OO’ is quite an easy phoneme to learn and a very useful one too!\u00a0 Here are some ‘OO’ words for you to learn.<\/p>\n loo<\/span>k<\/strong><\/p>\n boo<\/span>k<\/strong><\/p>\n poo<\/span>l<\/strong><\/p>\n foo<\/span>d<\/strong><\/p>\n hoo<\/span>k<\/strong><\/p>\n First of all I want you to write these ‘OO’ words out 3 times.<\/p>\n Now I would like you to make rainbow ‘OO’ words.<\/p>\n Finally, I would like you to make a sentence with each word, remembering a capital letter, full stop and finger spaces.<\/p>\n Now try the worksheet below.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Health and Well-being<\/strong><\/p>\n Over the weekend hopefully we were all able to go visit a member of our family!\u00a0 This has been something we have taken for granted all of our lives (as we probably did this every weekend or more).\u00a0 From Friday onward this has been a very special time for many.\u00a0 Hopefully your family don\u2019t live too far away and you have been able to spend some time with them.\u00a0 It must have been a great feeling to spend time, in our gardens, with loved ones.<\/p>\n How it has lifted all our spirits and given us such a positive boast.\u00a0 If you were able to visit someone you have not seen during Lockdown you will know this feeling.\u00a0 Hopefully it won\u2019t be too much longer until we can see all of our family.<\/p>\n Today is also a new month\/season JUNE begins our three months of SUMMER, can you believe it!!
