Cressida Cowell is very careful to only use similes that vikings would understand,<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;like dragons&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;like babies&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;like cliffs&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Why do you think that she does this?<\/p>\n<p>Why does she not use similes that we would recognise like, &#8220;&#8230;as tall as a block of flats&#8230;?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What do the similes add to the story?<\/p>\n<p>Record your answers in your jotter.
