You can listen and watch more than once.<\/p>\n<p>Just in case you have forgotten<\/p>\n<p>Literal Comprehension \u2013 What it says<\/p>\n<p><u>What is the Author saying?<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remember the facts<\/li>\n<li>Identify the main ideas<\/li>\n<li>Find the details<\/li>\n<li>Summarise<\/li>\n<li>Locate information and use clues to give meaning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Questions you should ask yourself<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What words show the main ideas of the story?<\/li>\n<li>How can you summarise what is happening?<\/li>\n<li>What happens first, second, third and last?<\/li>\n<li>How are the things that happen alike?<\/li>\n<li>What things belong together?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Inferential Comprehension \u2013 How it says it<\/p>\n<p><u>What am I understanding?<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Read between the lines<\/li>\n<li>Find clues\/collect evidence<\/li>\n<li>Have ideas<\/li>\n<li>Make predictions<\/li>\n<li>Judge the mood<\/li>\n<li>Find the author\u2019s point of view<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Questions you should ask yourself<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What is the author hiding?<\/li>\n<li>What effect does this character have on the story?<\/li>\n<li>What effect does this event have on the story?<\/li>\n<li>What will happen now?<\/li>\n<li>How can I prove my ideas?<\/li>\n<li>What is the author\u2019s message<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u><br \/>\n<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Evaluative Comprehension \u2013 What it means to me<\/p>\n<p><u>What do I think about this?<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why has the author written this way?<\/li>\n<li>What are my feelings about these characters?<\/li>\n<li>What are my feelings about these situations?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Questions you should ask yourself<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Could this possibly happen?<\/li>\n<li>Is this logical?<\/li>\n<li>What other way could this story have gone?<\/li>\n<li>Is my thinking fact or opinion?<\/li>\n<li>Do I agree or disagree with the author\u2019s message?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As you write your questions remember,<\/p>\n<p>Inferential answers need evidence to back them up so inferential questions must be based on evidence in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>Evaluative answers can be different for different people but again their views must be justified so your questions must relate closely to the story so that the opinion that they form makes sense.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I know that you might find the inferential questions tricky but that is why you need to collect your evidence first.
