{"id":2565,"date":"2016-02-28T19:37:44","date_gmt":"2016-02-28T19:37:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/staugustines\/?p=2565"},"modified":"2016-02-28T19:45:13","modified_gmt":"2016-02-28T19:45:13","slug":"the-week-ahead-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/staugustines\/2016\/02\/28\/the-week-ahead-17\/","title":{"rendered":"The Week Ahead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/staugustines\/files\/2016\/02\/images-51.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2569\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/staugustines\/files\/2016\/02\/images-51.jpg\" alt=\"images-5\" width=\"234\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This week is an extremely busy week for everyone as all classes are involved in creating their own books for our Literacy Week.\u00a0 There is a programme of activities across the school throughout the week to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March.\u00a0 All classes will be involved in reading for enjoyment and will also view Live Literature Broadcasts by Michael Morpurgo, David Walliams, Julia Donaldson and many more.\u00a0 We are hopeful it will inspire more of our children to read for enjoyment.\u00a0 This week is also the start of Fairtrade Fortnight and our Global Citizens have organised a Fairtrade shop to be run throughout the fortnight.\u00a0 This will compliment the work taking place in all classes to learn about Fairtrade.\u00a0 Our Lenten Charity work continues with a pyjama themed readathon and movie afternoon taking place on Thursday.\u00a0 Cost will be \u00a31.00 for our Lenten Charities.<\/p>\n<p>Mon. &#8211; March &#8211; April Newsletter will be issued<\/p>\n<p>Football Afterschool Club (Pr.3)<\/p>\n<p>Fun Fitness Afterschool Club (Pr.3)<\/p>\n<p>Tues. &#8211; Pr.7 transition work with St.Ambrose staff<\/p>\n<p>Cross Country Afterschool Club<\/p>\n<p>Wed. &#8211; Dental checks, Pr1 and Pr.7<\/p>\n<p>Assembly Pr.1 &#8211; 3 and Pr.4 &#8211; 7 &#8211; theme Fairtrade<\/p>\n<p>Thurs.- World Book Day<\/p>\n<p>Orienteering, Pr.4\/5 led by Sports Leaders from St.Ambrose<\/p>\n<p>Pyjama themed readathon, children to bring pyjamas, cushion, blanket and BOOK for readathon.\u00a0 Pyjama themed movie afternoon &#8211; linked to a famous children&#8217;s book.<\/p>\n<p>Badminton Afterschool Club<\/p>\n<p>Dance Afterschool Club<\/p>\n<p>Frid. &#8211; First Friday Mass<\/p>\n<p>Literacy Assembly &#8211; Pr.1 &#8211; 3, children to dress up as a character from fiction.\u00a0 Parents invited to attend at 2.00pm<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
