Life in the Past

Last week Primary 1 started their new topic about Life in the Past. We looked at homes long ago and the objects that were used. Today in class, the children used mime to show an item from long ago, such as the washing board, mangle and carpet beater. If parents have any resources that would be beneficial, please send them in!

Materials

Before the Easter holidays, the Friendly Dragon had left us a challenge to build a strong house for the 3 Little Pigs that the Wolf could not blow down. So today in class we had a big selection of materials to choose from and we worked in groups to create our house. Most of our houses were able to stay standing when the wolf huffed and puffed!

Today in maths the boys and girls were introduced to subtraction.  In ICT, the class went on the computer to play a variety of subtraction games.

Carrickstone Care Home

Yesterday, our class went with Primary 1/2 to the care home. We wore our Easter bonnets and sang our Easter song to all the residents. We had a great time performing to our audience.

Welcome

Welcome back to the new school term. I hope you enjoyed the Easter holidays and had lots of fun. Just a little reminder that PE will continue to be indoors on a Tuesday and outdoors on a Wednesday.
