Weekly Update: 3rd – 14th February

  • S2 Reporting Evening
    • Thanks to all parents & carers who attended the S2 Reporting Evening.  We hope that  the information and feedback received was worthwhile & informative as S2 students begin the process of picking their options for S3.  A copy of the options booklet can be accessed on the important information menu.
  • S3 Reports
    • The final report for S3 students were issued this week.  Any parent or carer who has not received a copy of the report should contact Principal Teachers of Pupil Support Mrs Gray or Mrs Halavage.
  • Primary Transition Sports Event
    • The PE department held their second Primary Transition Sports event.  Over 200 pupils from our Associated Primary Schools took part in a Potted Sports and once again it was a resounding success.  Well done to all who took part and thanks to Miss Barr and our Sports Captains/Sports Leaders who were responsible for the successfully running of the event again.  Another great example of our students showcasing excellent leadership skills and qualities.
  • Tree of Knowledge
    •  We welcomed the Tree of Knowledge back into school to work with our S4 pupils.  The focus of the workshops was on how students can improve their studying, and tap into their sub-conscious minds to help prepare them for their SQA exams.  
  • Art & Design
    • S3 Art & Design pupils Luke Robertson, Emma Beattie, James Doyle & Bradley Dairion who were out  filming with BBC Arts and artist Ross Muir.   It was a great day for the pupils who gained real world experience and handled the cameras like professionals.
  • New PE Newsletter

  • Sporting Update
    • S1 and S2 athletes were out competing at the North Lanarkshire Giant Heptathlon in Ravenscraig RSF.  A great effort from all the team in each of the 7 events.
    • S3 students Ami Robertson & Caitlin Moran were both in action with the Scottish Schools squad in a friendly v Hamilton Academical. Performances from both were excellent, and particular well done to Ami on scoring a hat trick in the game.
    • Well done to Corrajo Campbell (S2) & Shannon Stewart (S3) who were both recently crowned the An Chomhdháil All Scotland Irish Dance Champions. This was Corrajo’s 7th All Scotland title with Shannon picking up her 1st. Well done also to Donella Campbell (S5) who placed 2nd in her competition.
  • Saturday School 
    • The Saturday School programme for this week is attached below.  Students should indicate their intention to attend  with the relevant teachers before Saturday.
