This dress code must not lead to direct<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">or indirect discrimination on the grounds of race, religion, gender or disability. Prior to<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">drawing up the dress code the parents, pupils and staff were fully consulted. It is the<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">expectation of learning &amp; leisure services that parents will be keen to support the dress code<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">and written agreement may be sought.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Dress code requirements are as follows:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>white shirt and school tie\u00a0 (available from the office &#8211; junior school tie \u00a35 &amp; senior school tie \u00a37)<\/li>\n<li>black trousers\/skirt<\/li>\n<li>black shoes<\/li>\n<li>black v-neck jumper (if required)<\/li>\n<li>school blazer with badge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em><strong>For Physical Education:<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Plain white t-shirt<\/li>\n<li>black shorts\/black jogging (tracksuit) trousers<\/li>\n<li>training shoes (change from outdoor footwear)<\/li>\n<li>black sweatshirt (if required)<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1165 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/stambrosehsblog\/files\/2015\/09\/uniform2.png\" alt=\"uniform2\" width=\"247\" height=\"191\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Clothing which is <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">UNACCEPTABLE<\/span><\/strong> in school under any circumstances include items which:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;text-align: justify\">\u2022 could potentially encourage factions (e.g. football colours)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;text-align: justify\">\u2022 could cause offence (e.g. anti-religious symbolism or political slogans)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;text-align: justify\">\u2022 could cause health and safety difficulties such as loose fitting clothing, dangling earrings and other potentially dangerous jewellery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;text-align: justify\">\u2022 are of flammable materials which may be a danger in certain classes (eg shell suits)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;text-align: justify\">\u2022 could cause damage to flooring<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;text-align: justify\">\u2022 carry advertising in particular for alcohol or tobacco, and<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;text-align: justify\">\u2022 could be used to inflict injury to other pupils or to be used by others to do so.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All North Lanarkshire schools must have a dress code which encourages pupils to dress in a way which is appropriate to attendance at school.
