{"id":15,"date":"2015-05-05T09:23:10","date_gmt":"2015-05-05T09:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/anntest3\/?page_id=15"},"modified":"2020-04-02T13:41:36","modified_gmt":"2020-04-02T13:41:36","slug":"assessment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/sikeside\/assessment\/","title":{"rendered":"Assessment &amp; Reporting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: black\">Assessment and Reporting<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: black\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: black\">Assessment is an important part of the Curriculum for Excellence and, at all levels, pupils\u2019 progress is closely monitored by teachers and staff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black\">In turn, teachers and staff work with pupils to reflect on their results, looking at their strengths and learning needs, agreeing next steps and action based on these. As they progress, pupils become more involved in this process, as they develop the skills to make effective judgments on their own learning, developing personal expertise that will be important to them throughout life. Assessment also helps teachers plan learning experiences which are motivating and challenging. Children who may have additional support needs will be assessed using methods best suited to their individual requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black\">Jotters are sent home termly so that parents have the opportunity to see their child\u2019s work. Twice a year parents consultations are held and also a written report issued.\u00a0 Pupils\u2019 progress will be tracked and monitored through North Lanarkshire Council systems by class teachers.\u00a0 Regular assessment will advise pupils\u2019 next steps in learning which will be discussed at planning and evaluation meetings between the teachers and Head Teacher.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Assessment and Reporting \u00a0Assessment is an important part of the Curriculum for Excellence and, at all levels, pupils\u2019 progress is closely monitored by teachers and staff.
