Yesterday we had a house challenge to find as many hidden eggs as we could in 10 minutes. There were 5 golden eggs that were worth 5 points each. The winning house was Dunnotter Castle (the red house). Reported by Kerry and Alysa.

All of the bases enjoyed taking part in the Community Read. Everyone read in mixed pairs from P1-P7 for 30 minutes. Here are some examples of what people said… “I enjoyed reading with the younger pupils. We were pointing at pictures and talking about them.” Alyssa, P6 “I enjoyed reading with the younger pupil because he was very confident.” Kerry, P6 “It was fun reading with the younger pupils.” Ryan,
P5/6/7 have been learning about World War II. The pupils researched significant events through out this period of time and created a fantastic timeline which is displayed outside Base 3. Links to Curriculum for Excellence I can discuss why people and events from a particular time in the past were important, placing them within a historical sequence. SOC 2-06a

Well done to our Netball Team for qualifying for the Cluster Schools finals. The children have worked very hard for this and we know they will continue to make us proud!
On Fridays, pupils work in their Houses to form our focus Friday groups. The purpose of the focus groups is to work together and learning about these three important areas: Group 1 Focus on Global Citizenship Group 2 Focus on Health and Wellbeing Group 3 Focus on Eco The groups rotate every four weeks so that everyone gets a turn. On Friday we had a Scottish themed assembly. We started by singing “Donald Where’s yir Troosers.” P1/2 performed the story of Hairy McClairy (from Donaldson’s Dairy). P3 recited a poem titled “I had a Little Monkey”. P4 performed a poem named “Sair Teeth”. P5/6/7 performed “Skye Boat song” and shared info about famous Scots via PowerPoint. Alyssa, Robyn, Sophie and Kerry met today to talk about the school website. The Tech Crew will update and share information on Mondays and Wednesdays. We will be organising a competition to encourage everyone to visit our new website. Thanks you, The Tech Crew
