I am delighted to be able to introduce myself as the Head Teacher of Shawhead Primary School and Nursery Class. I feel extremely honoured and privileged to have been chosen to lead the school and to be part of the journey of Shawhead Primary and Nursery.

A little bit about me… I have been in the teaching profession for 19 years, with 9 of these in a leadership capacity. I was successful appointed Head Teacher in August 2023, and before taking up this post, I was Acting Head Teacher in a primary school for two years.

As a parent myself, I recognise the importance of the role of the Head Teacher in fostering and supporting a positive culture throughout the school. I pride myself on my ability to build relationships with children, families, staff and wider partners and I hold the strong belief that relationships are the cornerstone of any successful establishment.

You can be assured that as Head Teacher, I am deeply committed to the education, wellbeing and inclusion of every learner in Shawhead Primary School and Nursery Class and will make decisions based on what is right for the children and will ensure that they have fun and make memories along the way.
