- Poor diet: fried food, sweets and cakes
- High rates of drug and alcohol abuse
- Not enough for young people to do
- Town centres are run down with empty shops
- Antisocial behaviour: vandalism, litter, noise, gangs
- Public transport is poor (buses and trains)
- Lots of poverty and inequality
- Crime rate
- Homelessness
