Primary 2

Maths

  • Practise counting in 5’s – say it, sing it, write it
  • How many? Ask children to collect between 10 and 30 small items at home to sort into equal groups. For each size of group, children note the total number of items (e.g. 22), the group size (e.g. 3, 4, 5 or 6), the number of groups that can be made and the number left over, e.g. ‘22 is 7 groups of 3 with 1 left over’.
  • Active Learn – continue to play the games assigned to your active learn account.

Literacy

  • Read your book every night and remember to bring it in to school each day
  • Last week we were learning about acrostic poems. We created some fantastic acrostic poems about snow.  Take a look at this websites to remind you of what an acrostic poems  is.
  • As it is Burns night on Thursday, can your create your own acrostic poem related to something Scottish eg

It is completely up to you which word you chose to create your Scottish acrostic poem.  The above words are just to give you some ideas.

Other        DUE on 01.02.18

  • Over the next few weeks our topic will be Scotland.
  • For homework choose a city in SCOTLAND to research.
  • Make up a fact book/fact poster about your chosen city (you can include any information you wish to)
  • Be ready to present the fact book/poster to the rest of the class on 01.02.18

  • We have begun working on the 2 times table. Listen to this song and practise writing the 2 times table in your homework jotter.
