Buddhism

Class 3 C have been studying some aspects of Buddhism in RE with Mr Liddle. In particular they have been learning about the practice of mindfulness through Buddhist mandalas. These intricate patterns are created carefully by Buddhist monks using coloured sand over a number of days, before being swept up as though they were never really there. The practice calms the mind and reminds us that things do not last: day becomes night, summer becomes autumn and so on.

Shannon’s drawing of the Buddha was outstanding and a lesson in patience and mindfulness in itself.
