On 9th June 2016, staff and pupils of Portland High School will take part in the Great British Relay in an attempt to help secure three World Records. As part of a round Britain relay, they will run from Braco to Dunblane – a distance of 12.5 km (7.76 miles). As well as contributing to world record attempts for:
- longest in duration continuous running event.
- longest distance hand delivered message and
- longest game of Chinese Whispers,
we are raising sponsorship for JAPES. JAPES has been set up to buy a modified wheelchair (called a Joëlette) to allow children with mobility challenges and disabilities to be included in popular mass running events.
