We had a very interesting visit to the Scottish Parliament building but unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take photographs.

Instead have a look at some of the 3D paper sculptures we have been making based on our names.

Parent Literacy Drop In Afternoon

A great afternoon in Ladywell PS at the Literacy Parent Drop In.

Our focus for this session was Reading.

Thank you to all who managed to attend.  Our pupils worked so hard to demonstrate their literacy skills in a variety of reading tasks.

A special thanks to all teachers and staff who prepared an excellent session to showcase pupil learning at Ladywell PS.

January 2017

As well as working hard in January we also learned about Robert Burns and watched a dramatisation of one of his famous works, ‘Tam O’ Shanter’.

We also celebrated the lunar Chinese New Year. This is the year of the rooster.

We have taken on the Micro-Tyco challenge and here are the members of our individual companies. Each company has been given £1.00 to make as much money as they possibly can during the month of November. All of the money raised will go to the Wild Hearts Foundation who provide loans to people in developing countries to start small businesses.

Week beginning 3/10

This week was mostly about our assembly! We learned all about speaking confidently in front of an audience. Miss MacDonald is very proud of us and if you managed to come along to watch us we hope you enjoyed  our work.

Our week beginning September the 5th

This week we have been continuing to work on our literacy skills using the novel Cottle Street. We have also been revising the use of colourful adjectives.

In maths we have been extending our skills in place value and decimal notation.

For health and well being we have each made a personal target which we have written on our e-portfolios in GLOW.

We are also really getting into the way of using Class Dojo to demonstrate our skills and work to our parents!

Our review of the week for the last week of August 2016!

This week we were having fun with place value in mathematics, some of us were revising angles and bearings. In language we were practising our inferential skills on our novel Cottle Street and using powerful verbs (R.W). In health and well being we took part in a football tournament. We are also working on our iPad project and quite a few of us are now on Class Dojo!
