The Ballad of Nessie…

We have been learning the language of old Scots.

Today we watched a short film about the Loch Ness Monster called the Ballad of Nessie.

We heard some of the old Scots language being used in the film.

We know that bonnie means beautiful, Loch means lakenae means no or none, wee means small, clad means dressed and that fur means for.

  1. I loved watching ballad of Nessie and seeing seeing the cute rubber duck Nessie had

I also liked learning some Scots words, like breeks which are trousers.
And cracking which is really good

I had a cracking time learning about this

  2. I loved watching the Ballad of Nessie and the words were great. I really liked the word muckle which means big and my dad told me a poem with muckle in it: Many a muckle makes a mickle which means many a big makes a small.
