Primary 2b Ladywell P.S 2016-17

Primary 2b pupils enjoyed using the Bee-Bots to learn all about position and movement.  Pupils were learning about sequencing, estimation, problem-solving, and just having fun!

Pupils used directional keys to enter commands which sent Bee-Bot forward, back, left, and right. Pressing the green GO button sent Bee-Bot on its way.

Bee-Bot blinks and beeps at the end of each command to allow children to follow Bee-Bot through the program they have entered and then confirms its completion with lights and sound. Some pupils even managed to create some complex command sequences.

We had a fabulous time visiting Motherwell Heritage Centre to learn all about “When Gran was a Girl”.

We got to dress up in clothes from the past and to touch some items from the past. We got to use a carpet beater, a mangle and an old scrubbing board, it was very hard work!

We enjoyed looking at the different shops in the past and finding out where we would buy our daily food items from.

A great afternoon in Ladywell PS at the Literacy Parent Drop In.

Our focus for this session was Reading.

Thank you to all who managed to attend.  Our pupils worked so hard to demonstrate their literacy skills in a variety of reading tasks.

A special thanks to all teachers and staff who prepared an excellent session to showcase pupil learning at Ladywell PS.

P2 pupils were set the challenge to research an old toy and prepare a short presentation for the class.

The presentations were SUPER and I am so proud of the hard work and effort that has gone in by all pupils (and parents!).

Well done boys and girls.  I loved hearing the information you collected about the old toys.

We make smoothies as part of our Health topic this term.  We will be learning all about ‘Milk’.  We used milk and fruit in our healthy smoothies because these foods help to keep our bodies healthy.

We also used our cutting skills to slice the fruit into smaller pieces before adding it to the blender.

P2b had an amazing time at their Christmas party showing off their dance moves and playing games! We even had a special visit from Santa!

We painted ‘Windows in Winter’.  We used different brush strokes to paint a snowman and snow.  We added black strips of paper and a background to make our winter window scene.

In PE we have been playing a variety of different games to help improve our speed and stamina.
