World Book Day 2018

We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day, in our book character costumes. We shared our love for reading by reading some of our favourite stories throughout the day. We enjoyed having a visit from the children in Primary 4a, who came to share a story with us. We listened to some fantastic stories from the author Kes Gray in Author’s Live and had some fun designing our own book token as part of a competition. We even managed to visit the book shop to purchase some books for us to take home and read.

Library Visit 18/12

We had so much fun today visiting the library. The librarian read us a selection of Christmas stories and we sang Christmas songs. We even had a chance to have a look around the library and read our own books!

Senses Nature Walk

The boys and girls in P2/1 enjoyed getting some fresh air today as we visited the school nature garden.

We have been exploring the different senses of Autumn.

We heard the crushing of leaves and the smell of the Evergreen trees. We were also treated to the sight of a rainbow.

Fairyland – 31/10/17

A dragon sent us a letter and asked us to help save Fairyland by reading more fairy-tales.

This week he sent us a package with some beans, some soil and some pots in it. We were very clever and quickly guessed that we had to read ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to the fairy-tale and discussing it but we enjoyed planting our beans even more. We really hope they might take us to a giant’s castle too !

Health week – 9/10/17

We started off our Health week by learning about who to call in an emergency situation . We practised pretending to dial 999 and explaining what had happened to our friend. We acted out the steps involved in assisting a conscious casualty.

Mr Soares kindly gave up his time to teach us the rules of football and we had a great time playing football outside on our pitch. Although we did come back in rather muddy!

We loved boogying  in the sponsored dance and we had great fun learning some new dance moves from Amanda at A and B dance. Mrs Riddell and Mrs White enjoyed joining in too. We would like to thank you for your generosity in supporting us in our sponsored event.

Andy from St Andrew’s hospice came in to discuss some of the things we do to keep healthy. We enjoyed listening to his super advice and we were all able to share some if the things we do to keep healthy.
