Orchard Primary School and Nursery Parent Council<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Dear Parents\/Carers<\/p>\n As Chairperson of the Parent Council representing the Primary and Nursery, I am pleased to let you know that these are the members selected to represent the voice of you, the Parent Forum, for the next two year term.<\/p>\n The Office Bearers are<\/strong><\/p>\n Chair –\u00a0 \u00a0Jillian Ford Price <\/p>\n What does a Parent Council do?<\/strong><\/p>\n The Parent Council is there to help the school operate as a successful school.\u00a0 It does this is a number of ways including:<\/p>\n Promoting close co-operation and communication between parents\/carers and teachers;<\/p>\n Engaging in activities which encourage the education and welfare of the children; and<\/p>\n Acting as a place where parents can share ideas, interests and skills for the benefit of the school.<\/p>\n The Parent Council would not become involved in issues relating to individual children. These should be taken up with the class teacher or directly with our Head Teacher, Mrs Mackenzie, who operates an \u2018open door\u2019 policy for all parents\/carers.<\/p>\n What\u2019s Next?<\/strong><\/p>\n Our meetings take place on the first Tuesday of every month.
