You may have seen on twitter we have been focusing on Fairtrade this week.\u00a0 The boys and girls have learned about Fairtrade and our P3 class ran a raffle and raised \u00a3103.40 for the Fairtrade Foundation.\u00a0 Thank you to Mr Rankin, who led Fairtrade week and arranged the raffle too.<\/p>\n
On Monday our morning nursery children started getting lunch in our dinner hall.\u00a0 This is part of the preparation for the 1140 Expansion.\u00a0 So far they have tried many different new foods and have sat together like a proper nursery family.\u00a0 Next, they will be learning how to put their dishes away and tidy up.\u00a0 Such responsible citizens!<\/p>\n
Wednesday marked the start of Lent.\u00a0 The children went to the Ash Wednesday Mass and have been learning about Lent in their classes.\u00a0 As part of our preparation for Easter, there will be many events happening over the next few weeks.\u00a0 Check the newsletter and twitter for these.<\/p>\n
On Thursday night our Glee children, along with Mrs Cahill, Miss Newall, Mrs Anderson and Miss Lewis, attended the annual Glee Competition for our region.\u00a0 The children performed beautifully and were the youngest choir there.\u00a0 They sang two songs, Light Up and Rule the World, and shone like stars, literally – the children had new glittery\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 t-shirts with a sparkly star on the back.\u00a0 Over the last 6 weeks, Mrs Cahill and Miss Newall have worked hard with the children, teaching them songs and dances.\u00a0 They have both given up their lunchtime for many weeks to design and make the t-shirts.\u00a0 We cannot thank them enough for their time and dedication to Glee.\u00a0 Thank you, Ladies!<\/p>\n
