LibrariesNL are North Lanarkshire public libraries. The public library is available to anyone who works, lives or studies in North Lanarkshire. Look in their online catalogue<\/a> to find what you’re looking for.<\/p>\n If you have a\u00a0 YoungScot card, you can use it as your public library ticket so long as you are registered with them. You can even\u00a0 join online<\/a>.<\/p>\n If you need help with your Young Scot card, talk to Mrs Macfadyen.<\/p>\n Check out the eLibrary<\/a> for a fantastic collection of ebooks, audiobooks, emagazines, newspapers, online databases and\u00a0 the chance to practice for your Driving Theory Test<\/a>.<\/p>\n You are also entitled to use South Lanarkshire Libraries because you live or go to school in North Lanarkshire.<\/p>\n The Mitchell is the largest reference library in Europe and is open to everyone. Their collections are so huge they aren’t all catalogued online yet, but the librarians are experts at finding what you need.\u00a0 Mrs Macfadyen can help you organise messages to find out if The Mitchell has what you’re looking for.<\/p>\n The NLS should be your first place to visit if you are studying for Advanced Highers. They have a massive collection of online journals that you can view once you’re logged in, as well as a Moving Image collection (which is based at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow), historical\u00a0 \u00a0newspapers online,<\/p>\n Check out the Academic Resources<\/a> page, or see Mrs Macfadyen for more details.<\/p>\n If you like maps, you’ve got to spend some time in the Maps Library<\/a> because it is amazing. If you don’t like maps, have a look anyway – you might change your mind. Find out what the school was built on,\u00a0 how the landscape has changed around your house, why Firpark Stadium and Forgewood got their names.<\/p>\n If you are studying Advanced Higher classes, Mrs Macfadyen can often arrange for you to visit one of our local university libraries. We try to arrange a visit at least once a year to get you\u00a0 started.<\/p>\n Glasgow University Library<\/a> will also provide you with a reference ticket.
