{"id":1743,"date":"2018-06-28T10:53:16","date_gmt":"2018-06-28T10:53:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/olhscumbernauld\/?p=1743"},"modified":"2018-06-28T10:53:16","modified_gmt":"2018-06-28T10:53:16","slug":"trip-to-the-falkirk-wheel-and-the-kelpies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/olhscumbernauld\/2018\/06\/28\/trip-to-the-falkirk-wheel-and-the-kelpies\/","title":{"rendered":"Trip to the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 class=\"govd_header\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Trip to the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"gd_p\" align=\"left\">The S3 Personal Development class recently enjoyed a very successful trip to the Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gd_p\" align=\"left\">The pupils enjoyed the boat ride at the Falkirk Wheel which lifted the boat up 35m in the air from the Forth and Clyde Canal to join the Union Canal for a short time, before returning back down again.\u00a0The journey was accompanied with a commentary telling you the history of the Falkirk Wheel and the surrounding area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gd_p\" align=\"left\">After this adventure, we made our way to the Kelpies, where we were given a guided tour which took us inside Duke, one of the Kelpies.\u00a0We also learned\u00a0how Arria \u201cThe Angel of the Nauld\u201d was designed by the same\u00a0Glaswegian sculptor\u00a0Andy Scott.\u00a0Then we had fun in the Adventure Park before heading back to school.\u00a0Everyone had a great day on\u00a0a unique and highly memorable trip.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/content.govdelivery.com\/attachments\/fancy_images\/UKNLC\/2018\/06\/2017822\/2050513\/kelpies_crop.jpg\" alt=\"kelpies\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trip to the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies The S3 Personal Development class recently enjoyed a very successful trip to the Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies.
