{"id":1696,"date":"2018-05-15T12:03:02","date_gmt":"2018-05-15T12:03:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/olhscumbernauld\/?p=1696"},"modified":"2018-05-15T12:03:02","modified_gmt":"2018-05-15T12:03:02","slug":"chinese-new-year-2018-year-of-the-dog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/olhscumbernauld\/2018\/05\/15\/chinese-new-year-2018-year-of-the-dog\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinese New Year 2018 &#8211; Year of the Dog"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 align=\"left\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Chinese New Year 2018 &#8211; Year of the Dog<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"gd_p\" align=\"left\">On Wednesday 28 March, Our Lady\u2019s High School celebrated Chinese New Year, a bit later than expected due to the snow!<\/p>\n<p class=\"gd_p\" align=\"left\">Approximately 80 S1 and S3 pupils took part in a broad range of Chinese cultural activities such as ribbon dancing, tangrams, tea ceremony, Origami, checkers, chopsticks as well as biscuit decorating and calligraphy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gd_p\" align=\"left\">Each pupil sampled the broad spectrum of activities on offer spending\u00a0time at each of the stations. All of the pupils who had attended the Edinburgh Zoo Confucius Classroom Open Day in February were leaders at each of the workshops demonstrating and modelling the activities to their peers.\u00a0\u00a0Pupils had a wonderful morning with ribbon dancing, tea ceremony and biscuit making being a massive hit!!
