This includes:<\/p>\n<p class=\"gd_p\" align=\"left\"><b><u>P7 Transition Award:<\/u> <\/b>On Tuesday 5th September our new S1 together with our six Primary heads were delighted to receive a Community Education Award from Mr Owen Parry in recognition of our transition project \u2018Online Safety\u2019, an initiative run in conjunction with City of Glasgow College and Sky Academy. Congratulations to all involved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gd_p\" align=\"left\"><b><u>Kickstart Theatre Group<\/u>:<\/b> On Friday 1st September, our S1 pupils participated in Kickstart Theatre Group&#8217;s play &#8216;Lightheaded&#8217;, promoting positive lifestyle choices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gd_p\" align=\"left\"><u><b>S1 Library Induction:<\/b><\/u> S1 pupils had their library induction with librarian, Mr Boyle. They were shown where all the different types of book were kept and they also got to choose a book and make their own bookmark. They will follow a 20 week programme spread over the session to promote reading for enjoyment and literacy skills.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gd_p\" align=\"left\"><u><b>S1 &#8216;Sumdog&#8217; Launch<\/b><\/u>: All S1 were introduced to Sumdog, a resource to support learning in Maths and Numeracy, disguised as fun games which pupils can play on their own or\u00a0link with others, in school, at home, anywhere! Sumdog is available online or App can be downloaded to\u00a0pupils&#8217; own tablet or phone.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"govd_template_image\" src=\"https:\/\/content.govdelivery.com\/attachments\/fancy_images\/UKNLC\/2017\/09\/1548726\/1522236\/s1-sept-17_crop.jpg\" alt=\"S1 Sept 17\" width=\"428\" height=\"301\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"7\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our new S1 off to a flying start!
