\"\"The second of our Active8<\/strong><\/span> Family Learning workshops took place on Thursday 19th September. Mr Young\u2019s presentation provided an overview of the approach, including \"\"information on Cathedral\u2019s \u2018overarching pedagogy\u2019, which ensures an appropriate balance of <\/span>adult-led, adult-initiated <\/span><\/em>and<\/span> learner-led<\/span><\/em> learning across each week. Parents and carers received input on how to talk to their child about their learning at home before heading to their child\u2019s classroom to see <\/span>Active8 <\/span><\/strong><\/span>in action and learn alongside their child.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a snapshot of the positive feedback from this week\u2019s Family Learning:<\/span><\/p>\n

What I think about Active8<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGreat idea to get children actively involved in the structure of each day\u2019s learning\u201d. P6<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBrilliant, great way to engage the children and make learning fun.\u201d P6<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think it sounds amazing and allows everyone\u2019s learning needs to be met\u201d. P3<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSeems like Orla doesn\u2019t get a chance to be bored. She really enjoys learning.\u201d P3<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe feels she is learning about things she is interested in.\u201d P6<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt makes learning more fun. It helps me to be more involved in their learning.\u201d P6<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s really good and teaches children responsibility. I wish this was something I\u2019d had in school.\u201d P5<\/span><\/p>\n

What my child thinks about Active8<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c Joshua likes that he gets to choose what he wants to learn and when.\u201d P3<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOrla finds Active8 interesting and learns new things independently.\u201d P3<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe really enjoys this way of learning and finds it helps and encourages her.\u201d P3<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy child thinks Active8 is a very fun and smart way of learning and it makes learning easy.\u201d P3<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLucas enjoys it very much. He likes the fact he can choose.\u201d P6<\/span><\/p>\n
