Their investigation focused on observing what happens when vinegar reacts with an eggshell, dissolving the calcium carbonate and leaving behind a flexible, bouncy membrane.<\/p>\n<p>The children watched closely as bubbles formed on the shell, signalling the chemical reaction taking place. Once the shell dissolved, they were able to gently test their newly created \u201cbouncy eggs\u201d and discuss the changes they observed.<\/p>\n<p>Back in class, these young scientists used their findings to write functional lab reports, describing the process, recording observations and reflecting on the results.
