Dear Parents\/Guardians,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We will be starting our class novel week beg. 25<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0January. I have left a copy of the novel for each child in school.\u00a0 You may collect this from school during normal school hours next week.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I have included some literacy and numeracy \u2018emergency worksheets\u2019 which you may wish to use if you experience access issues with Teams and Glow. These sheets do not need to be uploaded to the shared space. I have given enough emergency worksheets to last several weeks.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Online Learning<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I am aware of the pressures of trying to work from home and supervise your child\u2019s learning.\u00a0<\/span>I\u00a0<\/span>have\u00a0<\/span>decided to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>post\u00a0<\/span>all<\/span><\/b>\u00a0activities for the week on a Monday<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0I know that some days parents have more time to support their child on tasks than other days so hope this is useful.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The tasks have been\u00a0<\/span>colour<\/span>\u00a0coded. When planning your tasks for the week please focus on green tasks first, then yellow tasks and finally blue tasks<\/span>.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0I DO NOT EXPECT CHILDREN TO COMPLETE ALLTHE TASK LISTED<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The\u00a0<\/span>literacy and numeracy\u00a0<\/span>tasks are in the Teams area as before.<\/span>\u00a0The other areas posted on the Glow page.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>I<\/span>t<\/span>\u00a0will be up to each family to decide the order in which they complete tasks.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I have put up an overview of tasks for the week for the groups\u00a0<\/span>on the children\u2019s post on Glow.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Uploading completed work<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n A few<\/span>\u00a0parents have mentioned the difficulty uploading the completed tasks. Please upload the work when you ca<\/span>n<\/span>\u00a0and don\u2019t worry about<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the submission dates<\/span>. These dates<\/span>\u00a0are there to help me keep track<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>I\u00a0<\/span>regularly<\/span>\u00a0check the assignment folders and find work whenever you post it.<\/span>\u00a0If\u00a0<\/span>you have difficulty posting in the Teams assignment area email me the work instead.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Some work has been posted in the gener<\/span>al comments area and I\u2019m afraid it is being lost amongst all the comments. It is a bit like leaving your work on the teacher\u2019s desk instead of the correction basket<\/span>. The work get<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>buried<\/span>\u00a0under a pile of other books and paper. I don\u2019t want to miss the opportunity to report back to the children.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Helping the children complete their tasks<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Some of the children are finding it difficult to follow the directions\/instructions without the reassurance of an adult\u00a0<\/span>double checking. They normally have this support in class from me!\u00a0<\/span>On the children\u2019s post\u00a0<\/span>there is a\u00a0<\/span>short clip showing the children how they can hear the instructions being read to them in the Teams. They can play the instructions as often<\/span>\u00a0as they need. I hope this takes some \u2018pester pressure\u2019 off you<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Please let me know if you<\/span>\u00a0find this approach helps you plan and work with your child bet<\/span>ter than last week\u2019s daily lesson update. We will adapt and develop the learning programme<\/span>\u00a0as we move through this new lockdown.
