I look forward to working with you all again. I have had the pleasure of teaching all the children in this year\u2019s Primary 4 class before. I taught some of the children in Primary 3, some in Primary 2 and also prepared all Primary 3 children for their Sacrament of Reconciliation. This letter will provide information for the coming term.<\/p>\n<p>Our PE days are <strong>Monday<\/strong> and <strong>Friday<\/strong>. Pupils may wear polo shirts to school on these days rather than the school uniform. Unless your child <u>can tie their own laces please ensure they wear Velcro or slip on gym shoes. <\/u><\/p>\n<p>In line with health and safety guidelines please ensure your child can remove any jewellery themselves or keep their jewellery at home on Monday and Friday. Please note this includes earrings and is for your child\u2019s safety and the safety of others.<\/p>\n<p>For homework we will continue with the successful model introduced a number of years ago, a 4-weekly grid outlining tasks for each week. Some will be compulsory others optional. Homework will be issued on a Monday to be completed by the Friday. At this age and stage homework will be designed to take no more than 10-15 minutes each night. More information will be given out at our meet the teacher event on <strong>Tuesday 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Septem<u>ber<\/u><\/strong><u>.<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>The diary will be used as the main means of communication between school and home. Mr McCloskey asks that the children <strong>bring their diary to school each day.<\/strong> <\/u><\/p>\n<p>As a health promoting school please encourage your child to choose a <u>small <\/u>healthy snack for break times. We encourage the children bring a water bottle to school to keep them hydrated.<\/p>\n<p>The children are very excited to have access to the school pitch at lunch time.\u00a0 Primary 4 has access to the pitch on <strong>Tuesday and Thursday<\/strong>. They <strong>must bring a change of shoes<\/strong>. Football boots <strong>are<\/strong> permitted.
