Summer Reading Challenge

This Summer we might not be travelling far from home but when we read we can travel anywhere! A book can take you far into the past or take you to the future. Books can carry us across mountains, into the deepest forests or under the oceans. If we have a good book we are not alone. We can hear the voices of the characters and be with them on their adventures.

The Summer Reading Challenge has arrived in Scotland!

The Big Friendly Read, Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge Scotland officially launched in Scottish libraries on Saturday 25 June!

If you’re in Scotland you can now sign up to take part in the Challenge – just visit your local library to get started! Borrow and read any six books from the library over the summer to collect limited edition rewards and a very special prize for completing the Challenge.

Create a profile on this website to keep track of the books you’re reading, write reviews, share what you’ve been up to at the library and chat to other book fans

We’ll be announcing some Dahl-ightful news, competitions and phizz-whizzing fun all summer, so stay tuned!
