{"id":301,"date":"2020-05-13T19:24:41","date_gmt":"2020-05-13T19:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/mrsmcalinden\/?p=301"},"modified":"2020-05-13T19:24:41","modified_gmt":"2020-05-13T19:24:41","slug":"thursday-14th-may","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/mrsmcalinden\/2020\/05\/13\/thursday-14th-may\/","title":{"rendered":"Thursday 14th May"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi again everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Today for literacy I&#8217;d like you to combine some of your artistic skills and persuasive writing.\u00a0 Can you make a poster for our &#8220;Virtual Sports Day&#8221; which is going to take place on Tuesday 26th May.\u00a0 If you look on the school Twitter page you will see a little video to tell you more about it.<\/p>\n<p>Remember what we learned about being persuasive &#8211; use WOW words, make your poster bright and colourful and include important details.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Numeracy<\/strong> &#8211; some outdoor activities today.\u00a0 Use balls to practise counting and estimating skills.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Guess how many times you can catch a ball without dropping it. Then try it out.\u00a0 Was your guess near?<\/li>\n<li>Predict how many times you can bounce and catch a ball in a minute.<\/li>\n<li>Can you and a partner roll\/bounce\/throw a ball 20 times between you in a minute?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finally if you have some time follow this link\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nms.ac.uk\/explore-our-collections\/stories\/world-cultures\/discovering-japan\/\">https:\/\/www.nms.ac.uk\/explore-our-collections\/stories\/world-cultures\/discovering-japan\/<\/a> and have a look at &#8220;Our Japanese collection&#8221; there are lots of lovely and interesting pieces of art.\u00a0 Which do you like, why?\u00a0 There is a woodblock print with a cherry blossom tree which I like.\u00a0 I love the beautiful colours and it looks sunny and peaceful.<\/p>\n<p>Have a lovely day and be sure to say hi!<\/p>\n<p>Mrs McAlinden x<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi again everyone.
