Wednesday 24th June

Well boys and girls, I can’t quite believe this is the very last day of Term!  What a strange few months it has been and I am sad that we haven’t been able to enjoy more time together in our class.  However, I have loved teaching you all, seeing you all try hard and I cannot wait to see all those lovely smiles again in August!  Until then I hope you all have a wonderful summer with your families and hopefully seeing your friends again.

Stay safe and look after each other.  Love Mrs McAlinden x

I am also attaching details of the Summer Reading Challenge – do your best to take part!

Head Teacher’s Summer Reading Challenge 2020

After the past two years successful events I am delighted to announce this years challenge.

In St Joseph’s Primary School we love reading.   During this summer, as most of us will be staying at home there is no better time to transport yourself on an adventure with a good book.

CHALLENGE

Send us a picture of you reading your book/magazine. You can mail this to ht@st-josephs.n-lanark.sch.uk or you can ask an adult to tweet it to us.

JUDGE

We have enrolled the support of a judge from Usborne Books who will select the most original/unusual photo.

PRIZE

There will be two mystery prizes up for grabs. The winners will be able to select a new book which will be donated by Usborne Books as they love the fact that we continue to learn and develop a love of reading during the holidays.

Good luck everyone!

Mr McCloskey

Wow boys and girls…it’s the last week of term! Can you believe it?

I hope that the Summer weeks are warm and pleasant and that you can spend lots of time outdoors.

When you are out and about, if the weather is good, you will see lots of butterflies (mariposas in Spanish.)

Click on the link below to find out the names of the mariposas and some information about them too.

https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/trees-woods-and-wildlife/animals/butterflies/

P2 and P3 choose one butterfly and find out as much information as you can about it.

Spain – Fantastic Facts about Spain

Watch the following clip, chicos and record as many facts as you can about Espana!

(Of course, you can watch the clip as many times as you like.)

Friday 19th June

Happy Friday everyone!  Just a few short tasks for you today (although one is very special!).

Literacy – choose any way to test yourself on this week’s spelling words.  Spell aloud, write in colour or even using water or chalk on the ground!

Numeracy – Topmarks Daily 10.  Focus on ordering numbers or subtraction today.

Finally, this Sunday is a special day because it is Father’s Day.  I have attached a few links below to give you some ideas for easy cards that you can make yourself.  You could even do this for your Grandad or someone special.

Finally, tell me how you have been exercising while the sun has been out.  Have you been on your bike?  Maybe done some Joe Wicks workouts?
