Thursday 2nd April 2020

Good morning boys and girls,

I hope you are all well and enjoying being at home and working hard. I have loved reading all your comments and reports this week. It is important we keep our wee brains working hard at home but it’s also important we enjoy time with our families and have fun too.

Today our first activity is on adjectives. We had been working on these in class before we stopped school. Have a watch at the video clip below and play along, answering the questions.

Primary 1 – Write one sentence of your own and see if you can add an adjective – maybe someone at home will help you spell any tricky words or even better just have a go.

Primary 2 – Write 3 sentences with an adjective in each. Same goes for you, have a go at tricky words or ask someone for a little help.

I look forward to reading your fantastic sentences.

Adjectives

Numeracy

P1 – Practise your number bonds to 10. Try to become very fast at knowing what partner each number to make 10. Remember it helps to write them down at first:

0+10=10

1+9=10

2+8=10  and keep going like so and you will see the pattern.

P2 – Practise number bonds to 20 with speed. Then you could practise addition an subtraction within 20 or 100. Challenge yourself and remember all our tricks and strategies to help us.

Play “knockout” get someone at home to test you on your number bonds and speed like we do in class.

Sumdog – try to log in to sumdog and do a few activities.

Have a great day boys and girls.

Friday 27th March 2020

Good morning boys and girls,

Happy Friday, I hope you have all enjoyed your week at home learning with your families and staying safe. Mrs Curran and I have missed seeing you all this week.

As it’s Friday I thought we could do a listening task at home as we do this on a Friday morning in school. You could play a good listening game with someone in your home like “Simon says” or maybe someone at home could give you a set of instructions to follow and see if you can do it. For example “go and collect a blue pencil and a green pencil, a bit of paper and two socks.” I am going to play this with my kids this morning too. Have fun!

Since we have P.E on a Friday morning you should try Joe Wicks workout we posted the link earlier in the week.

Remember all the lenten promises we made on our promise tree boys and girls tell someone at home what your promise was and try to remember to act it out.

Have a good day everyone.
