Good morning everyone 😊

I hope that you all had a lovely holiday weekend with your families and were able to get out and about in this sunny weather that we’ve been having! 🌞😎

Here are today’s tasks:

Literacy 

Primary One:

  • Log onto the Oxford  Owl Website  and use the log in details to access the free ebooks to help practise and develop your reading skills in the class login section :

Butterflies- Read the story “Blackbirds” and answer the following questions:

  1. What do blackbirds eat ? Blackbirds eat ……

  2. Where do female blackbirds build  their nests? A female blackbird has her nest ……

  3. How many eggs does a mummy blackbird lay in her nest. She lays between ……

  4. Draw a picture of a blackbird in its nest.

Primary Two:

Beetles : Read the Non-fiction story “A Place in Space: the moon” and answer these questions:

  1. What shape is the moon?

  2. What kind of water is on the moon?

  3. Who were the first men on the moon?

  4. When was the last moon landing?

Ladybirds : Read chapters one and two  of the story ” Tom Thumb and the Football Team”  and answer the following questions:

  1. What did the wife  wish for on page five?

  2. Why did the couple decide to call the new baby Tom?

  3. Describe what happened to Tom when he was watching his mum make a nice pudding. (Pages 10-11)

  4. Why was the pudding jumping and dancing about? (Pages 14-15)

  5. Tom meets a tinker on pages 15 and 16. Can you describe what you think a tinker is ?

Numeracy 

Today we are going to play a version Moggle. Look at  the  numbers and you have to either add or subtract the numbers to make as many different sums as possible. 

For example: 

9 –  8 = 1

2 + 2 = 4

Primary Two’s:

You are going to play the same game.  Look at  the  numbers in the grid below  and you have to either add or subtract the numbers to make as many different sums as possible. 

For example :

19 – 1 = 18

Health and Well Being – PE 

Try out PE with Joe on his YouTube channel  or try the activity cards by Joe to help keep you fit and healthy at home below.
