This week will be a building vocabulary week thinking about affixes. Please complete the activities set below.

1st Mar Affixes

World Book Day takes place on Thursday of this week.

1. Your first task is to email or upload a picture of the novel you are currently reading at home or an image of your favourite ever book. I’ll create a collage of all the images for Wednesday’s class catch up and we can guess who likes to read what.

For Grammar today I have prepared a challenge on Sumdog. The challenge will focus on synonyms & antonyms as well as pronouns & adverbs. Good luck!

For your starter today,  you have a choice.

Either you could login to Studyladder to complete some of the tasks set, all on the four number operations. Or, as Sumdog have a maths competition running until Thursday of this week, log some time there.

Today we’ll be thinking about Pie Charts. The clip below introduces pie charts and explains why they can be a useful way to show data.

Continuing with the Fairtrade theme of last week you have the option of either  of the ideas below.

This image has been created with wrappers from brands that are approved Fairtrade. The idea here, can you create something like this or could you redesign the logo?

As you can see, the outfit here is made from wrappers, could you create somehting like this?

If you don’t have an actual dice to hand perhaps you could ask a family member to pick a number for you or just do each exercise in turn.

Keep in mind the training plans which Mrs Baxter posted last week, the weather is set to be mainly dry for the next few days so lots of opportunity for fresh air hopefully.
