It inspires all kids to be active and mindful with a wide range of offerings that appeal to kids\u2019 different ages, interests, skills, and abilities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cosmickids.com\/\">Cosmic Kids Yoga<\/a> is another free resource with kids themed yoga and mindfulness videos.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"525\" height=\"296\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uYvAExtUUcY?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">If you don&#8217;t have internet access to watch the above sessions or want to try something away from the screen, then below are some further ideas you can do indoors at home:<\/span><\/h1>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Tape Games<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A simple roll of low-tack Painter\u2019s tape (<u><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2jz8wpi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer external\">like this one for delicate surfaces<\/a>)<\/u>\u00a0will be your new best friend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tape Shape Game:<\/strong>\u00a0Use\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2jz8wpi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer external\"><u>this tape<\/u><\/a>\u00a0to put a\u00a0variety of shapes, letters and\/or numbers on your floor.<\/p>\n<p>Have your child stand on their favourite one then give them instructions to follow that will lead them to their next destination (for example: \u201cbear crawl to the square\u201d, \u201chop like a\u00a0Frog to the T\u201d, \u201cRun to the rectangle\u201d). This will\u00a0keep your child moving, but also helps them learn their shapes, letters and numbers!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tape Lines:<\/strong>\u00a0Make 5\u201310 separate lines of tape, each about a\u00a0foot apart, on your floor or carpet. Label the first one the \u201cstart\u201d line and then give your kids simple instructions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Long Jump:<\/strong>\u00a0See how many lines they can jump over. Have them try and beat their best score each time. Experiment with arm swinging vs. arms behind their backs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Run \u2018n\u2019 Jump:<\/strong>\u00a0Now let them take a\u00a0running start and see if they can jump even further!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Long Jump Backwards:<\/strong>\u00a0Increase the difficulty by performing the tasks jumping backwards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hop:<\/strong>\u00a0How far can they jump on one leg?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reach \u2018n\u2019 Stretch:<\/strong>\u00a0How far can their leg reach with one foot on the \u201cstart\u201d line?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Hopscotch:<\/strong>\u00a0Make a\u00a0simple hopscotch \u201cboard\u201d and your kids will think it\u2019s just the coolest thing that it\u2019s\u00a0<em>inside<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Number Squares<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0Make a\u00a0large square with your tape and then divide it into 9\u00a0or more small squares, marking random numbers in each one. Now ask your child to perform a\u00a0specific movement to get to the next number like \u201cjump to 10\u201d, \u201czoom to 3\u201d, \u201cslither to 67\u201d.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>2.\u00a0Balloon Games<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Has your child ever received a\u00a0balloon at a\u00a0birthday party and been totally enamoured by it?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>Just a\u00a0reminder that pieces of burst balloons can be a\u00a0serious choking hazard, so\u00a0 make sure they are supervised during these activities at all times<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t Let The Balloon Touch The Ground:<\/strong>\u00a0This is the classic game that kids fall for every time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Penguin Waddle:\u00a0<\/strong>Place a\u00a0balloon between your child\u2019s knees and have them waddle across the room without dropping it<\/p>\n<p><strong>Balloon Blow:<\/strong>\u00a0Set up a \u201ccourse\u201d and see if your child can blow a\u00a0balloon all the way to the finish line.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>3. Other Indoor Ideas for Movement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pillow Case Race:<\/strong>\u00a0On hardwood or tile floors, sit on a\u00a0pillowcase (or a\u00a0t\u2011shirt) and use your arms and legs to scoot around a \u201crace\u201d course.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Airplane Landing:<\/strong>\u00a0Make paper airplanes and throw them. The catch? You have to collect it and bring it back to the start line without walking \u2013 this could be running, hopping, skipping, twirling, crawling\u2026let them get creative!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crab Walk:\u00a0<\/strong>Teach your child how to do the crab walk, then see how fast they can scurry across the room. Have races with siblings (or yourself!) and then increase the level of difficulty by having them balance a\u00a0stuffed animal on their stomach.
