members with the head teacher as professional adviser.\u00a0 They have duties, rights and responsibilities in relation to the management of the school.\u00a0 The Parent Council meets monthly to support the school.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080\">The Parent Council\u2019s rights and duties include:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080\">Supporting the work of the school.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080\">Representing the views of parents.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080\">Consulting with parents and reporting back to the Parent Forum on matters of interest.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080\">Promoting contact between the school, parents, pupils, providers of post-school education and the wider community.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080\">Taking part in the selection of senior promoted staff.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080\">Receiving reports from the head teacher and education authority.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080\">Receiving an annual budget for administration, training and other expenses.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080\">Improving home school partnership and facilitating parental engagement.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080\">Members of Parent Councils, on a voluntary basis, may also have an advisory role in decisions on placing requests by parents in respect of those situations where the number of placing requests for a particular school or for a particular stage in a particular school exceeds the number of places
