A positive approach is encouraged both at home and at school if children are to develop into responsible, well-adjusted adults. In school, an ethos where there is a clear philosophy and well defined parameters of behaviour understood by all, is a means of promoting an atmosphere conducive to learning and teaching and the safety and well being of pupils and staff.<\/p>\n<p>A high standard of behaviour is expected at all times, whether in classroom \/ project areas \/ dining room \/ hall or in the playground.<\/p>\n<p>GOLDEN RULES, which set out in simple terms appropriate standards of behaviour, are shared by all school users.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DO be gentle &#8211; Do not hurt anybody<\/li>\n<li>DO be kind and helpful &#8211; Do not hurt people&#8217;s feelings<\/li>\n<li>DO work hard &#8211; Do not waste yours or other people&#8217;s time<\/li>\n<li>DO look after property &#8211; Do not waste or damage things<\/li>\n<li>DO listen to people &#8211; Do not interrupt<\/li>\n<li>DO be honest &#8211; Do not cover up the truth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These rules are displayed in every class and are regularly discussed. All staff have a particular responsibility to set a good example and to help children adhere to the Golden Rules.<\/p>\n<p>We hope parents will support the work of the school by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>encouraging their child to have a positive attitude towards education and a respect for those in authority.<\/li>\n<li>expecting a high standard of behaviour both in and out of school.<\/li>\n<li>co-operating with the school when there are behaviour problems.<\/li>\n<li>ensuring their child\/ren is\/are punctual and regular attender(s).<\/li>\n<li>checking and signing diaries and homework.<\/li>\n<li>teaching their children to look after school and others&#8217; properties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Behaviour management is the responsibility of parents, teaching and support staff and children alike.
