This week would have marked one of the most important milestones in P7, the two day high school visit.\u00a0 We realise that this is a very exciting and daunting time for everyone.\u00a0 We have been sharing transition information from our high schools as and when we receive it, it can be found on the blog and I have also created a P7-S1 transition tab that we will be filling with info as and when we have it.\u00a0 Keep an eye out here!<\/p>\n
Mrs Waddell and I have been working hard to create transition day activities to help prepare the pupils for this event.\u00a0 We will post a transition task everyday this week (Mon-Thurs) and it would be very helpful if your child completed these activities and if you spoke through them together.\u00a0 We are more than happy to answer any queries pupils or parents may have so please do not hesitate to contact us. elainepaterson@langloan.n-lanark.sch.uk\u00a0 We will post the activities on the blog, in Teams and on the Sharepoint.<\/p>\n
Transition Task Day 1<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n In the first activity this week we will be thinking about your move to High School.\u00a0 Moving from Primary to High School is all very exciting and new but at the same time it can be scary and daunting. Have a think about your hopes and what you are looking forward to.\u00a0 Write down what you are excited about and subjects you are interested in learning.<\/p>\n Next, do you have any worries or concerns about starting High School? It does not matter how big or how small or how silly you think it is, sometimes putting it down on paper and trying to find a solution can make it seem a little better. Write down any worries or fears you have about leaving primary and starting secondary and rate them on how bad they make you feel on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being a little worried to 5 being extremely worried).<\/p>\n Then, write down some different ways that you can help to stop or ease these fears and worries you have. It can be something practical, solving the problem, talking to someone, finding out if it is true or not.
