{"id":77,"date":"2015-06-19T09:34:03","date_gmt":"2015-06-19T09:34:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/anntest3\/?page_id=77"},"modified":"2025-01-24T16:57:32","modified_gmt":"2025-01-24T16:57:32","slug":"starting-primary","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/langloanprimary\/starting-primary\/","title":{"rendered":"Starting Primary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">Throughout the year we carry out a comprehensive programme of transition events.\u00a0 These include:-<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">Visits by the Primary 1 teachers to our nursery and nurseries in the surrounding area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">Nursery children visit the Primary 1 classroom and playroom.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">Nursery children attend Fun31 activities to familiarise them with the system in place.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">P6 buddies help in the nursery during Fun31 to meet the children that they will help to settle in when they start school.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">Nursery children attend special assemblies and performances within the school.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">The nursery and Primary 1 teachers share toys and resources so that they will be familiar to the children when they start Primary 1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">Children in the nursery will attend 4-5 official visits to the school in May.\u00a0 Whilst children are in class doing activities, parents will attend workshops.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">In August, a member of the nursery team will be present in the Primary 1 classroom to be a familiar face and to help them settle smoothly into school life.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Throughout the year we carry out a comprehensive programme of transition events.\u00a0 These include:- Visits by the Primary 1 teachers to our nursery and nurseries in the surrounding area.
