P6 made french bread pizza!

K.E very kindly took photos showing how hard the class worked. The pizzas were yummy and everyone handled knives, cheese graters and chopping boards correctly. Every pupil had nice clean hands before handling any food products.

Here is a small comment from K.E, our pizza photographer-

“I think everyone’s pizza looks very yummy. I really liked taking pictures of everyone’s pizza.”

Our Science Day!

June 21, 2016 by Miss MacDonald | 0 comments

We worked very hard on our science projects. Examples of our work included a bouncy egg, several super lava lamps, static electricity, separation of molecules, liquids at different densities, an egg project, exploding coca cola, special sand, water pressure and adhesion, floating a raw egg, chemical reactions from common household products, what goes on in a garden pond, colouring a flower and a project on growing a sunflower. Phew!

May: Germ Attack! Our assembly!

It was our assembly this month. We learned a lot about germs and bacteria and worked very hard to prepare our assembly in the hope that it would be entertaining and informative.

Thank you very much to the people who were able to attend our assembly and thank you also for the lovely comments you left us, we really appreciate it!

April: Mark Beaumont and Pearl Izumi 2016

This year we have the honour of being associated with the Pearl Izumi cycle race taking place in May. Last year our school was also involved and it was great fun! As part of the preparations for the cycle race we were delighted to have Mark Beaumont come to visit our school to give a presentation on his achievements and to give us a chance to ask him questions. Mark is a IMG_0141 IMG_0147 IMG_0162record-breaking long-distance British cyclist, adventurer, broadcaster, documentary maker and author.

April : Body Works on Tour at Motherwell Football Club

We have been taking part in some active and exciting activities. This month we visited Motherwell Football club and enjoyed an interactive presentation from the Glasgow Science Centre entitled: “Body Works on Tour – Get Active”. There were some really good active experiments and we learned some unusual things about how our bodies work.

After that we walked round Motherwell Football pitch and enjoyed an active session on the astroturf with one of Motherwell Football club’s coaches. It was great fun!IMG_0139 IMG_0136 IMG_0135 IMG_0125
