Rights Respecting School Award

In Knowetop Primary, we are working toward becoming a rights respecting school. So far we have our R.O.C, our Recognition of Commitment.  This means we have begun our journey to be a Rights Respecting School.

Rights = Respect = Responsible Citizens

We are working toward our Level One award and hope to achieve it very soon.

Class all have charters that help each other to respect each each others rights. Teachers and pupils worked together to create these at the start of term and linking them closely to the UNCRC (explain). These have taken a variety of forms, from Finding Nemo to Rights Respecting Minions and more.

Across the school we have other charters to the Big K, Gym Hall and the Playground so we are sure we are respecting everyones rights no matter where we are.

One of our Knowetop Teams focuses on Rights Respecting School and have been working hard all year to have the whole school learn about rights. This group has pupils from every stage and every class working together.

Our lunchtime RRS Steering Group have been doing a great job and have had fabulous ideas to move us along our journey to becoming a Rights Respecting School.
