OUTDOOR LEARNING<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As you know, Outdoor Learning is one area we wish to prioritise in our school improvements this year.\u00a0 Listening to the views of pupils, parents and staff, we aim to make more use of the local environment as we take more learning outside.<\/p>\n

As a result, we are sending permission slips home today that will cover local walks all year.\u00a0 We will always notify you by text or email if we decide to take a class out at the last minute, but in this way you won\u2019t need to complete written permission each time.<\/p>\n

Please return the large permission letter that will come home in school bags today and return to school before the October Week holiday, as we aim to start this as soon as we are back!<\/p>\n

INTERIM REPORTS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Short written Interim Reports will come home in school bags on Monday (9th October).\u00a0 These will give you a brief overview of your child’s learning in Term 1.\u00a0 \u00a0I must say, I am delighted at the progress all pupils have made so far this year.\u00a0 Thank you for your support in this.<\/p>\n

Remember we will hold our Parents’ Night on 23rd November, where you will have the chance to meet your child’s teacher in-person.<\/p>\n

RESPECT ME – OUR ANTI-BULLYING COMMITTEE<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We have a range of Pupil Voice Committees running this term.\u00a0 This week our Respect Me Committee led our Assembly and launched a competition.\u00a0 We look forward to seeing all the creative ideas coming back next week.\u00a0 We are happy if you want to\u00a0work on this with\u00a0 your child at home.<\/p>\n

HARVEST FESTIVAL<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As we told you a few weeks ago, we are looking forward to holding our annual Harvest Festival on Thursday of next Week.\u00a0 All donations of tinned or dried goods will be collected from Monday and distributed to those most in need in our community next Friday.<\/p>\n

CHS PARENTS EVENING<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

P.7 parents are invited to attend Coatbridge High School for an information evening on Tuesday 10th October.\u00a0 Due to numbers, this is restricted to 2 people from the same family (i.e. a parent and a child or 2 parents).\u00a0 An email went out earlier this week with the details of this event.<\/p>\n

PARKING COMPLAINT<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We have received a complaint from residents living in Kirkshaws Avenue.\u00a0 They are frustrated that parents of our school and nursery are using the residents’ private parking spaces at the start and end of the school day.\u00a0 This means they cannot use their own allocated parking.<\/div>\n

This is a recurring problem that crops up periodically.\u00a0 I know that almost all parents park legally and safely a short distance from the school gates; however, could I remind everyone that we have worked hard over the years to establish positive relationships with our neighbours.\u00a0 Please do not block driveways or use residents’ parking areas.<\/div>\n
