Next week will be the Week 2 menu<\/strong> in both school & nursery.<\/p>\n

Please remember to speak to pupils in the school about the choices available each day to ensure they pick something they will enjoy. \u00a0Pupils from P.6 & P.7 need money added to their lunch cards BEFORE they purchase a meal. \u00a0This should be done using the online \u00a0payment system. \u00a0Lunches cost \u00a33.10 for P.6 & P.7 pupils, unless you have applied for free school meals.<\/p>\n

Breakfast Club started again on Wednesday. \u00a0Remember, Mrs Stewart is looking forward to seeing any children in the dinner hall from 8.15-8.45am each day. \u00a0No need to pre-book…just turn up. \u00a0P.1-5 pupils receive a breakfast free of charge. \u00a0The cost is \u00a31 for P.6 & 7 pupils who would usually pay for a school meal.<\/p>\n

MEET THE TEACHER – WEDNESDAY 24.8.22, 3.15 – 3.45pm<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We would like to welcome you to visit your child’s class on Wednesday 24th August at 3.15pm for a short time.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Your child will be your guide as you visit their class and get the chance to put a face to a name of your child’s new teacher.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Please note that this will NOT<\/u><\/b> be an opportunity for the teacher to report on progress, but just a chance for you to see your child’s learning environment. \u00a0A progress report will be issued in October.<\/div>\n

All children will be dismissed from their own playground doors at 3pm as usual on Wednesday. \u00a0We will ensure all classrooms are empty before a bell will ring and the playground doors will open again at 3.15pm to let all visitors in.<\/div>\n

HOMEWORK<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

As always, our homework will start properly on the first Monday in September to give everyone a chance to settle back into school routines. \u00a0In June we sent out a parental survey asking for your feedback. \u00a0We were delighted that so many of you took the time to respond. \u00a0We have taken onboard all your comments and, as a result, we have simplified the format for the year ahead. \u00a0More information coming soon.<\/div>\n

PANTO TRIP<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This week I sent out emails and letters about our planned trip to the Theatre at Christmas time. \u00a0As I informed you in June, the general price increases this year mean the cost will be \u00a315 per head. \u00a0I realise this is a lot of money for families to find. \u00a0If you have more than one child at the school we can partially subsidise siblings from school funds. \u00a0Please call the school office if this affects you to allow us to work out a plan to help<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

DROP OFF AND COLLECTION<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Have you noticed our new yellow lines outside the school? \u00a0In an effort to keep school entrances safer many local schools have had additional road markings added over recent weeks. \u00a0PLEASE AVOID PARKING ON THE YELLOW LINES BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL TO KEEP YOUR CHILD SAFE<\/strong>. Thank you.<\/p>\n

We are delighted at how well our P.1 pupils are settling in already. \u00a0After a staggered start on the first 2 days, they are now in from 9am until 3pm with everyone else. \u00a0 For the safety of all pupils we continue to ask that adults drop children off at the gates in the morning<\/strong>. \u00a0Remember that school staff will be in the playground from 8.45am. \u00a0The infant gates will remain closed until this time each morning.<\/p>\n

I think that, after a few teething problems, most families have worked out a collection routine that suits them. \u00a0P.1-3 pupils should be collected by an adult from their class teachers in the infant playground at 3pm. \u00a0P.4-7 pupils should exit by their own playground doors and arrange a meeting point with their families in or around the school grounds. \u00a0Please remind your child that they should COME BACK TO THE BUILDING<\/strong> if they don’t find you in your normal spot.<\/p>\n

The Pirate Ship<\/strong><\/span> outside the infant playground remains out of use<\/strong><\/span> at this time. \u00a0I’m afraid it is unsafe for use and we wouldn’t want anyone getting hurt. \u00a0Please remind your children not to play on it after school.<\/p>\n

Please remember if you are waiting or walking within the school grounds, smoking and vaping are not allowed. \u00a0Dogs are also not allowed<\/strong> within the grounds.<\/p>\n

LOST PROPERTY<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We already have a growing pile of sweatshirts, jumpers and cardigans that have been left lying around the school over the past few days. \u00a0Please remember to add your child’s name to EVERYTHING! \u00a0\ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

PE KITS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Pupils should continue to come to school in PE kits on their gym days. \u00a0This should be their normal polo-shirt\/sweatshirt on top, with shorts, or jogging trousers on the bottom half. \u00a0Pupils should have indoor shoes that they can change into when working in the gym. \u00a0Some PE lessons will continue to \u00a0be taken outdoors too.<\/p>\n
