STAFFING CHANGES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As we come to the end of another school year we have some staff sadly leaving us and others coming to join the Kirkshaws family.<\/p>\n

Today will be Miss Watson, Miss Reid and Miss McPhail’s last day.\u00a0 All three teachers will be moving to other NLC primary schools in August.\u00a0 We will miss them all VERY<\/strong> much, but we wish them well in their new posts and we know they will be fabulous wherever they go.\u00a0 Our loss is most definitely a huge gain for these other schools.\u00a0 They are leaving behind young minds that are all the richer for their influence!\u00a0 Thank you, ladies!<\/p>\n

However, it is not all upsetting news… we will be welcoming\u00a0 Miss Curley back to Kirkshaws after her short spell at OMPS and we will also be delighted to have Mrs Canning back following her recent Maternity Leave.\u00a0 In addition, we are looking forward to getting to know Miss Brownlie who will be teaching P.3\/2 next year.\u00a0 All 3 ladies have been in to visit over recent weeks and they can’t wait to get started after the holidays.<\/p>\n

PANTOMIME 2022 – CINDERELLA<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I KNOW<\/strong><\/span> this is ridiculously early to start talking about Christmas (oh yes it is!!) but I want to give you as much warning as possible.\u00a0 We are booked to go to the Motherwell Pantomime for the first time in 3 years!! In that time the cost of both the theatre and transport have gone up considerably (like everything else!).\u00a0 We are still looking for the cheapest quotes for buses, but at the moment, it looks as though the ticket price will be around \u00a315.\u00a0 If you have more than one child at the school, we will work with you to reduce the cost for siblings.\u00a0 I know this is a lot of money, so I don’t want to spring it on you with short notice.\u00a0 A letter with full details will be issued on our first week back in August, as the theatre is looking for full payment in September.<\/p>\n

HOLIDAY<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Remember, school finishes at 1pm today<\/strong>.\u00a0 Our nursery closes at the usual time, but if you wish to collect your child earlier this can be arranged with nursery staff.<\/p>\n

Pupils return to school and nursery on Wednesday 17th August, when Breakfast Club, Nursery and School all start at the usual times.<\/p>\n

We look forward to welcoming our new P.1 pupils at 9.30am<\/strong> on their first TWO days, allowing them a quieter start to their first mornings.<\/p>\n

All that remains is for me to wish you a safe and happy holiday.\u00a0 Thank you for your partnership through the smiles, celebrations, tears and dramas of the recent months!\u00a0 Every day is not perfect, but that is what family-life is all about… working together to find a solution to what life throws at us.\u00a0 \u00a0I look forward to continuing to work with you in August and beyond!<\/p>\n
