<\/a><\/p>\nHALLOWE’EN<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\nJust a reminder that pupils CAN dress up for Hallowe\u2019en IF THEY WISH NEXT FRIDAY.\u00a0 No one needs to and we know many of our children prefer to attend school in uniform.\u00a0 This is never a problem.\u00a0 A reminder of the current situation:<\/p>\n
\n- We will have a fun Hallowe\u2019en day in both nursery and school on Friday 29th October.<\/li>\n
- Pupils\u00a0WILL NOT be allowed home at lunchtime<\/strong>\u00a0to change.\u00a0 Pupils should come to school\/nursery in the morning wearing their costume.<\/li>\n
- In light of this, please remember that\u00a0pupils will be outdoors wearing their costume throughout the day<\/strong>\u00a0and it will probably get dirty.<\/li>\n
- Pupils should also be\u00a0able to go to the toilet in their costume independently<\/strong>.\u00a0 Staff in school continue to keep a 2 metre distance from pupils wherever possible.\u00a0 Please check your child can manage their costume themselves.\u00a0 We realise you may need to simplify their costume for this.<\/li>\n
- Please\u00a0do not send in accessories<\/strong>\u00a0(broomsticks, pumpkins, swords, etc).\u00a0 We are still advised to bring only essential items from home, so the amount of extra \u2018bits\u2019 should be kept to an absolute minimum.<\/li>\n
- We will not be able to have our usual Hallowe\u2019en parade as a whole school and there will be no prizes (as we know costumes will be simplified), but we can still enjoy\u00a0dressing up in each class just for fun<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
HOUSE CAPTAINS AND VICE CAPTAINS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\nThis week we have been very busy voting for House Leaders.\u00a0 P.7 pupils all had the opportunity to make speeches on Teams this week and pupils across the school voted.\u00a0 This morning we had our first Hybrid Assembly, with half the school in the hall and the rest joining us on Teams.\u00a0 Mr Sharp announced the successful candidates and we are delighted that they have all taken on these new roles now.\u00a0 Congratulations on your new jobs!<\/p>\n\n

UNIFORM<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\nThank you to everyone who is working so hard to continue to ensure our pupils are turned out in school uniform every day.\u00a0 It is lovely to see everyone so smart, wearing their Kirkshaws uniform with pride.<\/p>\n
Remember that PE uniform is simply a school polo shirt\/T-shirt and school sweatshirt\/jumper worn with dark jogging trousers\/shorts.\u00a0 There is no need to purchase expensive sports gear, even for outdoor PE.\u00a0 Football tops and football team colours should not be worn or brought into school<\/strong>.\u00a0 This is in line with NLC policy for all schools.<\/p>\nHOMEWORK<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\nA new 3-week homework grid will be available from Monday of next week.\u00a0 Homework can be found under the Class Section<\/strong><\/span> menu header on our website, or on your child’s class Team.\u00a0 Should you need any log-in information changed or refreshed, please contact your child’s class teacher in the first instance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Week 2 Menu next week, with a change to the menu in school on Thursday for a Hallowe’en themed meal.\u00a0 See below.
