Lunch Menus for next week<\/strong><\/span>!\u00a0 School meals above and Nursery Loving lunches below.\u00a0 This is the final week of this menu; there will be a change of menu after the Easter Holidays.\u00a0 I’ll share the new menus with you as soon as they are released.<\/p>\n

HOLIDAY REMINDER<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

School will close on Thursday 1st April for our Easter Holiday.\u00a0 We reopen at our usual times on Monday 19th April.\u00a0 We finish a half hour earlier on Thursday, with staggered times still in place.\u00a0 Therefore classes will come out at the following times:<\/p>\n

2.20pm: Rooms 1, 5 & 16<\/p>\n

2.30pm: Rooms 2, 8, 14 & 15<\/p>\n

2.40pm: Rooms 3, 4, 9 & 10<\/p>\n

The Nursery holiday dates are the same.\u00a0 Nursery hours will continue to be reduced next Thursday, as they have been over recent weeks.\u00a0 I will confirm our hours going forward as soon as I can on the first week back.<\/p>\n

NURSERY FUNDRAISING<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Many thanks to everyone who continues to donate \u00a32 each week to our Jelly Bean Fund.\u00a0 Please remember that every penny donated stays within the Nursery, giving your child daily treats and marking special days.<\/p>\n

Our Easter Fundraiser letters went out today, with the competition starting on Monday!\u00a0 GOOD LUCK winning those sweetie jars!\u00a0 All money raised will go towards making Term 4 that wee bit special for all our wee learners.<\/p>\n

AUTISM AWARENESS WEEK 202<\/span>1<\/span>– a message from Mrs McGarry<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

World Autism Awareness week is back from 29th<\/sup> March to 4th<\/sup> April 2021.<\/b><\/p>\n

One in every 100 UK school children is autistic and, without the right support, school can be a confusing and difficult place.\u00a0 <\/span>At Kirkshaws Primary School and Nursery we are fully committed to improving understanding of autism and to support our pupils and their families in every way possible.<\/p>\n

How will we help to raise awareness?<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Everyone at Kirkshaws Primary School and Nursery will be helping to raise awareness by participating in learning activities and discussions around being unique, differences and similarities.\u00a0 <\/span>We will help to make a difference by wearing something blue to school or nursery on Thursday 1st<\/sup> April<\/span><\/strong>. This can be a blue top, hair bow, shoe \u2026 something that will simply replace what you\u2019d normally wear to school. No costumes on top of uniforms though, we have to remain COVID safe. Don\u2019t have something blue? Don\u2019t worry, you can wear your school sweatshirt. To round off our week, we will all join together for an Autism Awareness assembly on Thursday 1st<\/sup> April.\u00a0 <\/span>We will celebrate what we have learned throughout the week.<\/p>\n

Remember, if you are joining in with our Easter Competition this year, you need to upload a photo of your bonnet or egg to the correct channel in Teams by Wednesday next week.\u00a0 I am always amazed at your creativity – I’m certain this year won’t be any different!\u00a0 I’ll announce the winners here next Thursday!<\/p>\n
