{"id":5595,"date":"2020-12-12T17:08:20","date_gmt":"2020-12-12T17:08:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/kirkshawswebsite\/?p=5595"},"modified":"2020-12-12T17:08:20","modified_gmt":"2020-12-12T17:08:20","slug":"mrs-ns-notes-11-12-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/kirkshawswebsite\/2020\/12\/12\/mrs-ns-notes-11-12-20\/","title":{"rendered":"Mrs N&#8217;s Notes, 11.12.20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600\">CHRISTMAS PARTIES&#8230;WITH A DIFFERENCE<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As you know, none of us can attend a traditional Christmas Party this year, and the same applies in school and nursery.\u00a0 In order to keep everyone safe, risk assessments remain in place daily.\u00a0 These will not be relaxed.<\/p>\n<p>However, we are determined to keep the festive spirit alive and give our young people plenty of reason to celebrate the festive season.<\/p>\n<p>We\u00a0are working hard to plan fun-packed Christmas activity days which we will continue to call our Class Parties, even though\u00a0<em>these will not resemble parties of previous years<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>We will have music and snacks as always,\u00a0and party games will be reviewed to ensure\u00a0all safety rules are adhered to.\u00a0 Many\u00a0classes are planning to do Christmas\u00a0arts and crafts &#8211; some teachers have informed me these activities could be messy (to make them even more fun)!<\/p>\n<p>So, this year, we do not recommend pupils wearing fancy party clothes to school\u00a0for\u00a0several reasons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>children will not be allowed to return home at lunchtime to change as we normally would<\/li>\n<li>as with PE, pupils will not have access to changing facilities in school so they need to come to school wearing their party gear<\/li>\n<li>teachers continue to adhere to 2m distancing wherever possible, so they can&#8217;t help\u00a0fix that flouncy skirt or fancy belt buckle<\/li>\n<li>and\u00a0<strong>MOST IMPORTANTLY<\/strong>\u00a0our Class Parties could stretch across the whole day, so pupils will be wearing these clothes\u00a0out in the playground, eating lunch, painting or using felt pens or glue!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please keep your party clothes for Christmas Day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Children in the nursery are being invited to come dressed for a pyjama party!\u00a0 Now that sounds like fun!<\/p>\n<p>Pupils in the school can wear their normal school clothes, dress down, add a touch of tinsel or pop on a Christmas jumper that day &#8211; the choice is yours.\u00a0\u00a0<strong><em>But please don&#8217;t wear anything you would worry about getting messy.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our Christmas Party Dates are:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Thursday 17th December<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Rooms 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10 &amp; 14<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong>Friday 18th December<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\">Nursery &amp; Rooms 1, 2, 15 &amp; 16<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I am also told that a Special Visitor has arranged to join the Nursery and Room 1 parties from a distance!!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>CHRISTMAS JUMPERS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We are looking forward to enjoying our on-line Pantomime on <strong>Wednesday 16th December<\/strong>.\u00a0 We are making this our &#8216;official&#8217;
